Khmer temple built on top of an extinct volcano . You access to it by a long paved walkway and a beautiful staircase. Very unique! With the temple of Phimai, these are the two finest Khmer temples in Thailand.

8 km from the Phanom Rung, this small Khmer temple has been wonderfully restored. A visit to do before or after Phanom Rung visit.

Other nice places to visit in Buriram

Wat Klang

starstarstar A few meters from Buriram city pillar, it is especially interesting for the large pool which is just next to it.

Khao Kradong Volcano Forest Park

starstarstar 6 km from Buriram, on an extinct volcano whose crater is now filled by a lake and whose summit houses the Phra Suphattharabophit, a huge sitting Buddha that became the symbol of Buriram city.

Wat Tham Theeraram

starstarstar and its many Buddhas statues all different. A park of sitting Buddhas seems to be in preparation.

King Rama I Monument

starstarstar This monument like that does not present a huge tourist interest but in the evening when all the 9-storey umbrellas surrounding it are lit, it becomes magnificent and is worth the detour ! During the day, it remains interesting but less photogenic.

Buriram City Pillar Shrine

starstar a few meters from Wat Klang and the Grand Pound, this imposing Khmer architecture monument was built in 2005

Buriram Walking Street

starstar This night market is held every Saturday and Sunday nights on Rom Buri Road and has much more charm than the daily night market of Buriram. There is a wide choice of dishes and small snacks for your evening meal.

Thunder Castle I-Mobile Stadium

star The city football club, Buriram United is sometimes said to be the Manchester United of Thailand. It is the best team in the country and the city as the club are very proud of their stadium. You can visit it if you want. This is not a must visit of course but attending a game can be fun.
