Located about sixty kilometers from Khao Lak or 85 kilometers from Phuket, Phang Nga town is known throughout Thailand for its bay with offers exceptional landscapes. Limestone cliffs, caves, archaeological sites, mangrove and turquoise sea are featured in this picture postcard setting. Part of the bay is protected and included in Ao Phang Nga National Park.
There are many agencies that offer day trip in the bay from Khao Lak (price between 1400 and 3000 baht depending on your negotiating skills), they generally all have the same program, it's just the order that changes. You navigate in the bay, have kayak tour with driver, visit the famous
James Bond Island, have lunch on Koh Panyee island then visit it and then sometimes stop on a beach or visit a cave. Often the day ends with a visit to Wat Sunawan Khuha or Golden Cave temple.
You will not be alone, Phang Nga Bay and especially James Bond Island and Panyee Island welcome a lot of tourists, during the day, especially in high season.
