Satun province is located in the south of Thailand. Foreign tourists hardly go there except on the island of Koh Lipe which, from my point of view, is the one with the most beautiful beaches in the country . And with its white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and colorful coral reefs and diving sites, it attracts many travelers during the peak season from mid-November to mid-May.

Visitors can also explore the sea caves of Tarutao National Park, as well as the traditional fishing villages and islands of Koh Bulon and Koh Adang. But the land part of the province of Satun is almost not visited by foreigners despite a geopark classified by UNESCO. The fault may be its classification in orange (except Koh Lipe) by several embassies which advise their nationals not to go there. This is the case of France.

Koh Lipe

Koh Lipe, pronounced go lipé is a small island located in Satun province, in the South of Thailand. Famous for its white sand beaches and crystal clear waters with incredible shades of blue and turquoise, it has probably the most beautiful beaches in Thailand and is sometimes nicknamed the Thai Maldives. There are also some very nice dive sites off Ko Lipe. All this assets make the island very very touristy during high season (from mid-November to the end of April). Too busy ...
