Your Travel Guide to Thailand
All information & tips to prepare your trip in Thailand
Krabi is one of the most beautiful provinces in the South of Thailand and therefore one of the most visited by foreign tourists as well. There are pretty spots on both the sea and land sides. It is a destination renowned for its spectacular karst formations, beaches and tropical islands.
The town of Krabi itself attracts relatively few tourists and has little interest other than its Walking Street, a large night market. It is also the starting point for pleasant boat tours on the Krabi River. But most travelers who visit the province of Krabi choose the corner of Ao Nang, by the beach. Here, don't look for typical local life, everything is geared towards tourism, but Ao Nang is a practical base for organizing all outings and excursions, whether to Phang Nga Bay, the tour of the 4 islands, Koh Hong, or go to the Emerald Pool, the hot springs or make the formidable climb of Wat Tham Suea. The province also contains some of the most popular islands for tourists, such as Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lanta, diving destinations and popular beaches. It is also there, on Koh Phi Phi Ley, that the most famous beach in Thailand is located: Maya Bay, immortalized in Dany Boyle's film with Leonardo Di Caprio and Virignie Ledoyen. And let's not forget the very beautiful corner of Railay which is not an island but is only accessible by boat.
Whether for rock climbing in Railay, relaxing on beautiful beaches, exploring marine life by snorkeling or diving, Krabi province is and will remain attractive even if Ao Nang is very very populated of tourists during the high season. But it is quite easy to find quieter corners in the province.
Krabi is the gateway to the islands of Koh Lanta and Koh Phi Phi or Railay but the city and its area have much to offer. Going to Krabi without taking time to take a long tail tour on the river among mangroves and limestone mountains or without visiting the cave temples is a great pity. have dinner at the night market near the pier of Tha Khong Ka. The food is tasty and very cheap. Here you are really in typical Thailand atmosphere. Budget accommodation there are numerous (especially near the p...
Koh Lanta is a still quiet touristic place. It is very popular with backpackers who can find accommodation in very rudimentary bungalows near the beach at incredibly low prices, not crowded beaches with white sand and turquoise warm sea. For lounging, sunbathing, swimming and snorkling far away from the bustle of the other islands is the ideal destination. The nightlife is necessarily less busy and there are not so many activities proposed of course but you can still dive, do some other water ac...
Hidden behind towering limestone cliffs, the isthmus of Railay in the province of Krabi is only accessible by sea. For those who love beautiful beaches and stunning landscapes, it's probably one of the most beautiful places in Thailand, but the time when Railay was a somewhat hidden gem is long gone! It remains a destination with beautiful beaches, stunning scenery, climbing spots, nature, monkeys, and all the amenities for tourists (bars, hotels, restaurants, massage parlors, sea excursions....
When we talk about Koh Phi Phi we especially talk about Phi Phi Don which is the largest island of the Koh Phi Phi archipel. This paradise island has been hit hard by the 2004 tsunami but quickly rebuilt with more brick bungalows that can resist better to such disasters. It is a very popular tourist destination and probably the most famous island in Thailand after Phuket. White sand beaches, turquoise waters, a landscape of cliffs and greenery, seabeds that amaze divers neophytes or not, it's a ...
The small island of Koh Jum is located between Krabi and Koh Lanta. Less known than its neighbor, it is one of the few islands in Thailand who still escaped mass tourism. Pretty wild and not really modernized Koh Jum is typically the kind of place where people come for a few days and finally stay longer seduced by its zen and relaxing atmosphere. The beaches are sometimes rocky, the water is not as turquoise as in Koh Lanta and its level may be sometimes too low for swimming but no doubt you wil...
We have been waiting for it for months, hoping it will happen on July 1, but it will finally be October 1, 2022, when Thailand will lift the last COVID restrictions to enter the country. From this date, it will no longer be necessary to show...
