Your Travel Guide to Thailand
All information & tips to prepare your trip in Thailand
Departure from your hotel around 8:30 a.m. - 9 a.m.
Direction to Wat Rong Khun. Of immaculate whiteness, it is nicknamed the White Temple. It is the best-known and most unmissable monument in Chiang Raï! Work of the Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, it is a magnificent and surprising building. Especially as it is expanding with new buildings. No longer necessarily white.
You will then continue your journey by tuk-tuk to Wat Rong Suea Ten, the Blue Temple of Chiang Raï. Although more modest in size, it is no less superb. Especially its interior with its blue frescoes in the middle of which sits a White Buddha. People often prefer him to his white counterpart.
Also on the program is a visit to Wat Huay Prakan, home to a giant statue of Guan Yin, the Chinese Goddess of Compassion. A magnificent white staircase with majestic dragon railings leads up to it. You can also take the elevator and go inside the statue of the goddess to enjoy a commanding view, as well as visit Wat Phra Kaew, a historic temple in the city that once housed the famous Emerald Buddha, now located in Bangkok.
This is a tuk-tuk tour, including a driver service and accompaniment by a Thai person who speaks a few words of English and will take you everywhere, but no guide is included in this offer. Entrance tickets to the visited sites will be at your own expense (around 300 THB per person; see details in the pricing section). Lunch in a thai restaurant will also be at your own expense.
