Must-sees & Must-Dos in Pattaya?

What to do and see in Pattaya

Generally, foreigners come to Pattaya for the beach and to party and do other activities that we will not detail here. But there are still some interesting visits to do in Pattaya. The most interesting monument in the town is the Sanctuary of Truth a beautiful wooden building built according to ancient techniques. Pattaya Big Buddha also worth visiting.

Pattaya Big Buddha

วัดพระใหญ่
My opinion :

Perched on the hill between the sulfur area of South Pattaya and Jomtien, the 18 meters high statue of Buddha seems to watch over the city. This is the largest statue of its kind in the Province.

Koh Larn island

เกาะล้าน
My opinion :

This small island just opposite Pattaya has much prettier beaches and is easily accessible by boat. Most people just come there for the day but personally I recommend spending the night there, it allows you to enjoy Koh Lan before and after the horde of tourists.

Other nice places to visit in Pattaya

Pattaya Floating Market

Pattaya Floating Market

starstarstarstar built from scratch, this floating market is certainly artificial, but still a nice place to shop, stroll and eat especially if you have not yet had the opportunity to see this type of market. The choice of wooden and bamboo houses and boardwalks gives it an appreciable semblance of authenticity even if the place is still far from a real traditional Thai floating market.
Khao Chi Chan

Khao Chi Chan

starstarstarstar mountain a few dozen kilometers from Pattaya with a large Buddha image drawn on one of its walls. It is located in the district of Sathahip.
Koh Si Chang island

Koh Si Chang island

starstarstarstar Located opposite the town of Si Racha, a little north of Pattaya, Koh Sichang island is quite rocky with only two sandy beaches but between its viewpoints and landscape, its temples, its seafood restaurants and the location of a royal residence which was dismantled and rebuilt in Bangkok, it is an island very popular with Thais who come in large numbers on weekends and public holidays. It is a short trip from Bangkok.
Wang Sam Sien

Wang Sam Sien

starstarstar on the hill between South Pattaya and Jomtien, just before the Big Buddha, this small Chinese temple is especially interesting for its wall where you can read short stories and Chinese legends

Other visits suggestions in Pattaya

  • Koh Larn
In Thai it means the island reef. Boarding is on the dock at the end of Walking Street (journey time approximately 20 minutes)
  • Mini Siam
small little world that offers miniature replicas of the Emerald Temple, Democracy Monument, River Kwai Bridge but also the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty or the Sydney Opera House to just name a few.
