The must visit in Phetchabun is clearly Wat Phra Sorn Kaew temple. Planted in a mountain setting, it is renowned for its unique alignment of 5 white seated Buddha images of decreasing sizes. It is located in Khao Kho area very popular for its mountain coolness and the seas of mist that often come to cover the landscapes at dawn, especially during the rainy season. It is a very popular getaway for Thais who are quite numerous to come here on weekends and holidays. A little less known, the Phu Thap Boek also attracts visitors who spend the night there for the same reasons and for its winding road to reach it. Finally, Sri Thep Historical Park is also one of the main attraction but if I did not visited it myself, all the people I know who have been there did not recommend the place that much if you are not a big history or old stones lover.

It is not the most essential national park in Thailand but a pleasant piece of nature and mountains which is also an important historic place.
