Lampang is famous throughout Thailand for its ceramics and iconic ''chicken bowl''. You can buy them everywhere on the road that leads to Lampang city and at the markets and even on the parking lot of Wat Phra That Lampang Luang. There are several ceramic factories that you can visit in the province but the Dhanabadee Ceramic Museum is probably the most interesting because it is, that's what they say, they who built the first ceramics factory in the province.
Their museum traces the whole history o Lampang ceramics and the evolutions of the techniques and drawings. What is really interesting is to see the work in action from A to Z and especially the ceramics' painting. You will also see 2 old ovens. The showroom with the most modern designs is also impressive. And of course there is a shop where you can buy all types of ceramics.
