Must-sees & Must-Dos in Lamphun?

What to do and see in Lamphun

The first thing to visit in the province of Lamphun is the city. For that you can hire the services of a tuk-tuk, there are usually some in front of the railway station. But the most interesting area which is the one with Wat Phra That Haripunchai temple, the museum, the market on the bridge and Pratu Thanang Gate can be visited by walkig because every places are very close. To visit the rest of the province, being transported seems almost essential. You will find there a lot of very interesting temples, in Mon or Burmese style in general, sometimes perched on mountain hills because yes there are many mountains in Lamphun province and a magnificent waterfall, Wong Luang Waterfall, communities of craftsmen especially weavers or pottery makers.
I also listed at the end of the page some good tours, excursions and activities that you can do in Lamphun or from Lamphun. Click here to see them.

This gate is one of the few remaining vestiges of the fortifications of the old city of Lamphun. Beautifully restored, on the riverbank, it is located near Wat Phra That Haripunchai.
