Wat Ban Tham, Dragon Temple
Also known as the Temple of the Golden Dragon because the stairs leading to it ends in the jaws of a dragon before reaching the cave where the temple is. You can then take an iron staircase to reach open aire and continue to climb the mountain for a view over the Mae Klong River and the plain. Wat Ban Tham is about fifteen kilometers from Kanchanaburi

Practical information about Wat Ban Tham

Free access

How to get to Wat Ban Tham ?

There is no public transport to get to Wat Ban Tham temple but you can hire a songthaew (pickup with benches at the back) just for yourself to take you there. From Kanachanaburi city, it will cost you around 700 THB round trip regardless of the number of passengers with 1 hour to visit. You will find songthaews in front of Kanchanaburi bus terminal or Kanchanaburi Railway station. Negotiate the price before boarding knowing that you can do a more complete tour by adding the visit of Wat Tham Suea and Crystal Cave and then the price should be around 1,000 THB.
