Mukdahan province is located in Isan (pronounced ïssane), northeastern Thailand. It is bordered by the provinces of Sakon Nakhon to the north, Nakhon Phanom to the east, Amnat Charoen to the south and Laos to the west. Its climate is similar to that of other provinces in the region, with warm temperatures all year round and a rainy season from May to October. Little visited by foreign tourists, Mukdahan is increasingly popular with local tourists.
Main attractions in Mukdahan include Wat Roi Phra Phutthabat Phu Manorom, the province's most famous stemple, Wat Si Mongkhon Tai, Phu Pha Thoep National Park, Mukdahan Night Market and Ho Kaeo Museum Mukdahan. The province is also known for its cultural festivals.

But from my point of view, it's ultimately not the best time to visit the area because nature is dry and thirsty. The period from June to the end of August seems best to me if you want to see beautiful landscapes.
