Your Travel Guide to Thailand
All information & tips to prepare your trip in Thailand
The province of Kalasin is located in Isan, the northeastern part of Thailand. It is renowned for its cultural heritage, its natural landscapes, its traditional communities... and its dinosaurs. It is bordered by Sakon Nakhon to the north, Mukdahan to the east, Roi Et to the south and Maha Sarakham to the west. Its climate is typically tropical, with high temperatures and a rainy season from May to October.
Popular attractions in Kalasin include the Sirindhorn Museum and its dinosaurs, the Rongsi Market, Wat Phuttha Nimit, the best known in the province, the superb Wat Wang Kham and a few other temples. On the craft side, visitors can also discover local culture and artisans, such as weaving, by going to the Ban Phon Phraewasilk weaving Village.
