Must-sees & Must-Dos in Pai?

What to do and see in Pai

People don't really come to Pai for its monuments, but for the nature and the mountain scenery. There are many interesting waterfalls, the nearest on is Mo Paeng Waterfall. Although they are not the most interesting ones in the region, there are a few temples in Pai city and outside the town. There is also a Chinese village and Lisu village.

Must-visit places in Pai

pai-canyon.jpg

Pai Canyon

กองแลนหรือปายแคนย่อน
My opinion :

It's not a gigantic canyon but it is enough to impress those who have a bit dizzy and above all, it offers superb views of the surrounding mountains. This is one of the most popular places to watch sunsets in Pai (well, actually 8 kilometers from Pai to be precise).
big-buddha-pai.jpg

Pai Big Buddha

พระใหญ่
My opinion :

This large white Buddha is very recent, it is located on a hill overlooking the Wat Phra That Mae Yen which is already somewhat high. The visit is interesting for the Big Buddha certainly but also for the temple. Ddo not expect to see one of the finest Big Buddhas in Thailand, it is modest in size and quality.

Lod Cave

ถ้ำน้ำลอด
My opinion :

This big system of caves is one of the must visits to do from Pai or Mae Hong Son in Northern Thailand. Besides the magnificent and impressive caves, it is the bamboo rafting part on their interior river which makes it a very nice and fun little adventure.

Wat Klang

Wat Klang

starstar The most recognizable temple in Pai city with its golden chedi, it is especially interesting for its statues carved in massive tree trunks.
