Located in Ao Manao, in the WING 5 military air base adjacent to Prachuap Khiri Khan city, Khao Lom Muak hill can be seen from afar. If you can come all year round to see the dusky langur monkeys that you can approach closely because they are used to humans and no longer wild at all, the ascent of the mountain is only possible a few days a year (I will publish the dates by adding them in the events section on the website on the event called Khao Lom Muak hike
), during long weekends with public holidays in Thailand. The view from the top on the two bays, and in particular the one with Prachuap Khiri Khan town and the 3 small islands facing it, is breathtaking! But you have to to be earn it !
If the ascent begins with stairs it is only for about a third of the way, then the path is more rugged and ropes are stretched to help you climb while rangers are also stationed at the the most difficult parts. The last part of the ascent is more climbing than trekking. Going up this mountain is therefore not for everyone. As far as I'm concerned, it took a little less than an hour to reach to the top.
