Your Travel Guide to Thailand
All information & tips to prepare your trip in Thailand
Located about a kilometer south of the main viewpoint, it offers a slightly reduced perspective because it is less in front of the most beautiful part of the view and a little further away. But the view remains beautiful! Nestled in Ban Ao Makham Ward, Khlong Khian Subdistrict, Takua Thung District, Phang Nga Province, this viewpoint is considered the hidden gem of Phang Nga, close to the famous Samet Nangshe Viewpoint . Offering breathtaking views of more than 180 degrees, Ao Tho Li allows you to admire both its own landscape and that seen from Samet Nangshe. We will regret the Beyond Samet Nangshe Skywalk which spoils the view a little on the left.
One of the particularities of the Ao Tho Li viewpoint is the presence of three strategically placed rocks, thus offering a unique observation point for the sunrise. At the end of the rainy season, visitors will also have the chance to admire the sea of mist punctuated with white and pink cherry blossoms of the Phaya Suea Krong variety. In short, you will have understood, it also has its advantages! Especially since you can also rent tents to sleep up there. It is also a point of observation of the starry sky very popular with Thais, which explains why it is more complicated to obtain a tent or bungalow there on weekends.
The Ao Tho Li Viewpoint is the result of community collaboration, supported by Village No. 8. The land on which it sits belongs to the local community. Its name, Ao Tho Li, honors a benefactor of the region respected by locals for his contributions to the community. Toh which means grandfather or great-grandfather, is also used to designate elderly people who are respected. As for Li, it is the name of the person who was the first pioneer here in the past. Thus, each visit to the Ao Tho Li viewpoint is a celebration of the history and generosity of the region.
