Khao Lak is often the starting point for speed boat tours to the Similan Islands or the Surin Islands with magnificent beaches and some of the most amazing snorkeling sports in Thailand. It is also often from there that tourists go visit Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Island. Takua Pa is on the other hand less often visited although very interesting too.
