What to do and see in Ubon Ratchathani
There are many interesting temples in Ubon Ratchathani. The most important one is probably the Wat Nong Bua unique in Thailand and strongly inspired by a famous temple in India. Otherwise, we suggest you visit Wat Tung Si Muang and its old library on stilts and Wat Ban Na Muang, a boat shaped temple. ANd if you want to relax, go have a dring at Ubon Ratchathani's bech (on the river).

Wat Ban Na Muang

Hat Wat Tai Beach
there is no sea, but there is a beach in Ubon Ratchathani. It overlooks the Mun River. A nice scenery to eat or have a drink and maybe swim.

Wat Tham Khuha Sawan
This temple located near Khong Chiam 80 kilometers east of Ubon Ratchathani city offers a pretty dominant view over the Mekong with the Loas on the opposite bank, houses a huge Buddhist gong and a cave with the body of its founding monk very well preserved in a glass coffin.
Wat Jaeng

Thung Si Muang Park
the largest park in the city known for its imposing statue representing a chariot of the famous Ubon Ratchathani Candle Festival. In the evening, the night market where you can eat for cheap takes place right next to the park.
Hat Salung

- Wat Si Ubon Rattanaram

- Ubon Ratchathani National Museum

- Pha Taem National Park
At the North-east of Ubon Ratchathani, this huge park contains many waterfalls and caves with over 3000 years old prehistoric paintings.
- Wat Pa Nana Chat
where foreigners can follow Buddhist teaching. To get there take the red bus to Sisaket, il will frop you on the main road about 1 km from the temple.
- Wat Nong Pah Pong
Monastery in the forest with one of the most revered Thai masters of meditation. 70 monks live there, there is a small museum and a chedi. To get there take the songthaew number 3 (pink), it will drop you on the main road about 3 km from the temple.
