Must-sees & Must-Dos in Koh Yao Noi?

What to do and see in Koh Yao Noi

The most popular visit in Koh Yao Noi is the boat trip to the superb Phang Nga Bay. But you can have done it from Khao Lak, Phuket or Krabi and still come here. For the atmosphere of the island, its local life not only focused on tourism, its mix between island landscapes and countryside with rice fields, for its beaches, its hamlets, crossing its rubber plantations... On the island, you will find some interesting places such as beaches, of course, waterfalls, a batik workshop, the small island Koh Nok island offered as an excursion by some fishermen, a giant tree, and you can also go discover the neighboring Koh Yao Yai island.
I also listed at the end of the page some good tours, excursions and activities that you can do in Koh Yao Noi or from Koh Yao Noi. Click here to see them.

Must-visit places in Koh Yao Noi

Klong Jark Beach

หาดคลองจาก
My opinion :

This is the best beach in Koh Yao Noi. You can swim there with enough water even at low tide and this is where the greatest concentration of resorts, hotels, bars, and activities is.

One of the things I love to do in Koh Yao Noi is cycling through its countryside with its rice fields, buffaloes and landscapes mixing fields, mountains and sea.

Tha Khao Waterfall

น้ำตกท่าเขา
My opinion :

This small waterfall does not look like much but remains pleasant for its forest setting with a small waterfall without anyone (many tourists do not know about it). It is also super easy to access.

Long Beach

หาดยาว
My opinion :

It is the longest and wildest beach on Koh Yao Noi. It is not that easy to access. But precisely because it is almost deserted and wild, it gives you the impression of being a Robinson Crusoe lost on his island.

Tha Khao Beach

หาดท่าเขา
My opinion :

It's not the busiest beach in Koh Yao Noi and that's exactly what makes it interesting! It also offers a pretty setting with its view of Phang Nga Bay's karst peaks, the small island of Koh Nok and Tha Khao pier. I particularly like Tha Khao Beach at sunset.

Other nice places to visit in Koh Yao Noi

Pasai Beach

Pasai Beach

starstarstar Just after Klong Jark Beach, it is the liveliest beach in Koh Yao Noi, the one with the most resorts and restaurants. It is also suitable for swimming, especially at high tide. At low tide, it a little less good with around 1 meter high of water.
Batik dyeing workshop

Batik dyeing workshop

starstarstar This small batik workshop, a traditional wax-based dyeing technique, is run by a cooperative of women living in Koh Yao Noi who want to preserve this craft. You can make your own creations guided by their teachings.
Old pier

Old pier

starstar This long concrete pontoon that extends very far into the sea is photogenic. It is not worth the detour on its own but the whole area is nice to visit by bike. It can also be a nice spot for sunset on Koh Yai Noi.
