There is certainly a whole string of hotels in Koh Kradan on the beach facing Koh Mook. The quality/price ratio of a bungalow here is among the highest in Thailand but it is the law of supply and demand and you pay for your room and for the setting. Afterwards, you can still find fairly simple or very simple bungalows in Koh Kradan and so you can stay there for a reasonable budget. Especially if you book at the last minute. The prices are the lowest (but the risk is not to have a place on the cheapest ones). On the side of the headquarters of the rangers who manage the Hat Chao Mai national park, you can apparently rent tents.

Be careful, in most resorts, the bungalows have electricity only at night or at best permanent electricity but air conditioning only at night. Don't be surprised, this is a sign that it is an island still preserved from too much modernity.
