Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon
For us, Wat Yai Chai Mongkon (or Mongkhol, we find both spellings) is certainly one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand. A chedi on each side with a large stone Buddha sits smiling face, all surrounded by a square enclosure with all different Buddha statues that go around the building and a small garden at the back not to mention the Great Buddha lying a little further. It is a temple where he reigns an incredible sense of serenity and calm. It feels good and we want to stay. We advise you to get there from the opening in the morning (around 8:30), you will most certainly the temple to yourself or so.

You can get to Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon by renting a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Ayutthaya city center or from your hotel or guesthouse (they sometimes make them available to their customers for free) or hire a tuk-tuk idaelly for a whole city tour for a price around 200 THB per hour.
