Your Travel Guide to Thailand
All information & tips to prepare your trip in Thailand
Pak Meng Beach has a line of pine trees offering shade but only on the sand. The water is quite shallow, even at high tide, and the sea rarely rough, it is ideal for swimming with children. There are seafood restaurants and hotels along the beach or close to the beach. There are no public toilets, but as often in Thailand, a lot of restaurents and shops offer to use their toilets (5 THB) or shower (10 THB). Of course, the beaches on the neighboring islands are more beautiful but here, the setting is already very pleasant.
Hat Pak Meng (hat in Thai means beach) is located near a large mountain in the middle of the water whose shape looks like someone lying on his back which is called Khao Meng. Pak Meng Pier at its end, is the starting point for day trips to the islands or boat transfers to Koh Ngai, the nearest island or Koh Kradan and Koh Mook, a little further. The beach, and therefore the pier, are often the scene of beautiful sunsets.
