Hat Pak Meng Beach Trang
This pretty crescent-shaped beach about 5 kilometers long is about 40 kilometers from Trang city. It is the most popular beach with locals for family time on weekends and public holidays. Foreign tourists are quite rare there and generally only come on their way to or from the Koh Ngai or Koh Kradan islands opposite.

Pak Meng Beach has a line of pine trees offering shade but only on the sand. The water is quite shallow, even at high tide, and the sea rarely rough, it is ideal for swimming with children. There are seafood restaurants and hotels along the beach or close to the beach. There are no public toilets, but as often in Thailand, a lot of restaurents and shops offer to use their toilets (5 THB) or shower (10 THB). Of course, the beaches on the neighboring islands are more beautiful but here, the setting is already very pleasant.

Hat Pak Meng (hat in Thai means beach) is located near a large mountain in the middle of the water whose shape looks like someone lying on his back which is called Khao Meng. Pak Meng Pier at its end, is the starting point for day trips to the islands or boat transfers to Koh Ngai, the nearest island or Koh Kradan and Koh Mook, a little further. The beach, and therefore the pier, are often the scene of beautiful sunsets.

Practical information about Pak Meng Beach

Access to the beach is free. There is no lifeguard to supervise the swimming at Pak Meng.

How to get to Pak Meng Beach ?

Pak Meng Beach is 40 kilometers from downtown Trang. There are regular passenger vans to Pak Meng leaving from Trang Bus Terminal number 2 in town or from Trang airport (around 200 THB per person) and of course complete packages to the islands passing through Pak Meng Pier. If your goal is to enjoy Pak Meng beach and not to go to the islands, try to get off the van before the pier, ideally near the intersection with the road that runs along the sea.Note that it is much easier to find a van to go to Pak Meng than to come back. So also deal your way back when you buy your van trip to go to Pak Meng.
