Khlong Root, pronounced klong route, is a small river which in places crosses lush nature. Its starting point is located 18 kilometers from Krabi Town (click on the GPS coordinates to see the exact location). It is one of the most popular spots in the area for kayaking, with Ao Thalane which is on the sea side. It's really a nice place for its decor and its astonishing crystal clear waters!
The main activity at Klong Root is kayaking, or even swimming. This klong, which means channel in Thai, winds and extends quite far. Don't just stay on the kind of lake at the start, also and especially leave where it narrows and sinks into the vegetation. At the end there is a dam that children and local residents love to use as a slide. This is why they called this place Klong Luot, luot significant slippery.
