From Hua Hin beach, you can see the small hill of Khao Takiap (khao means mountain) and its large standing Buddha. The mountain gave its name to this less touristy area in the south of city center. The beach is as much beautiful. But what makes the charm of the place is the a small harbor at Khao Takiap's foot, ideal for eating seafood and fresh fish in one of the many small restaurants there. It is also possible to dine on the beach. in addition to the temple on the hill and the Buddha standing, a little further, Wat Takiap is not so interesting but offers Buddha statues in different postures with countryside background on its terrace that can worth you make a small detour to go see.
Beware of the monkeys. And do not park your car or scooter in the access road climbing behind the mountain, the monkeys could do damage which you will have to pay to the rental shop.
