Often immersion stays with the hill tribes of Northern Thailand are in very rudimentary accommodation which corresponds to the living conditions of the population. But with this offer you can enjoy this unique experience of sharing the daily life of the Karen in the mountains by staying in a ghomestay with a comfort similar to a good hotel. The homestay is run by Pen, a Karen woman married to a Westerner, the only one living in the village !

Who are the Karens?
The Karen tribe is the largest in northern Thailand. They are committed to preserving the environment and live mainly from agriculture. They are also the only hill tribe in Thailand to cultivate rice terrace fields (only during the rainy). Many Karen people live with elephants, whom they have considered as members of their family for generations.Indicative price:
For 2 days / 1 night
- 2 people minimum: 6,800 THB per person
- 3 people: 6,000 THB per person
- 4 people: 5,300 THB per person
- 5 people: 4,800 THB per person
- 6 people: 4,500 THB per person
- Then: 4,000 THB per person
- Free for children under 4 years old. Half price for children aged 4 to 8.
For 3 days / 2 nights
- 2 people minimum: 9,100 THB per person
- 3 people: 8,150 per person
- 4 people: THB 7,300 per person
- 5 people: 6,550 THB per person
- 6 people: 6,100 THB per person
- Then: 5,500 THB per person
- Free for children under 4 years old. Half price for children aged 4 to 8.
These prices are given as an indication, they will be confirmed or corrected during your discussions with the organizer of this stay.
Included in the price
Return transfer from your hotel in Chiang Mai, all activities, meals, compulsory insurance and your local guides on site (English speaking).
French-speaking guide (which for me is not essential because it adds distance with the Karen, unless you really don't speak English at all): supplement of 3,000 THB/day.
