Visit Wat Sam Wihaan (Ayutthaya)

g_translate Thai name : วัดสามวิหาร
reviews My opinion: starstarstarstar
Ayutthaya
Sam Wihaan temple
Buddha Wat Sam Wihaan
Reclining Buddha Wat Sam Wihaan
Literally it means the three wihaan temple and is often ignored by tourists because not mentionned in all guide books or on itineraries suggested by agencies. It really has three buildings and one of them quite dated contains a 21 meters beautiful painted reclining Buddha believed to be 600 years old. The rest of the temple which is one or two kilometers far away from Wat Phra Neru on the road to the old Ayutthaya floating market is much less interesting.

Practical information about Wat Sam Wihaan

How to get to Wat Sam Wihaan ?

This temple being a little out of the way from the city of Ayutthaya, the best thing is to rent a tuk-tuk to go there, visit it and come back (around 400 THB).
