Visit Wat Khao Sukim (Chanthaburi)

Perched on a hill about thirty kilometers from Chanthaburi city, Wat Khao Sukim temple was built in 1966 in order to serve as a place of meditation. The curiosity here is the small cable cars (now free) that allow you to go up and down from the car park instead of climbing the steps of the Naga long staircase. The temple houses a vast collection of religious artifacts and valuable antiques. The wax sculptures of more than twenty highly revered Buddhist monks is what attracts amany Thais here. You also have a dominant view over the surroundings. A new building that promises to be quite gigantic is under construction.

I am talking about this temple because it is one of the most important in the province but I must say that as for me it is not a priority in the list of places to visit in Chanthaburi /a>. The view is not that amazing and if the temple can be interesting, when we have not seen many of theme, it is more interestig for Thai people thanks to the representations of the revered monks than for tourists.
