Every Saturday night in the heart of the old city, close to the Wat Phra No, a large night market takes place on Kham Lue Road that become pedestrian for the occasion. Called 'Kad Phra No', you really should go to this friendly little market if you are in Phrae on a Saturday. You will find local products to by souvenirs of course but most stalls are for food and drinks sellers. You can buy your dinner and have a seat in a lively and festive atmosphere with often one or two groups of musicians in different places of the street.
Exceptionally, that evening, the temple Wat Phong Sunan which is located not far from the official entrance to the Walking Street (actually food stalls starts in front of this temple) remains open late and is nicely lit. I recommend you to go see the temple before sunset. It's magnificient!
