Located in Uthumphon Phisai 24 kilometers from Sisaket, the temple is a mixture between a ruined Baphuon style Khmer temple dating from the 11th century, the largest and most comprehensive in the Province, and new buildings in the classic style of Thai Buddhist temples. A rare blend that enables it to have the normal religious activity of a classical Buddhist temple. Once you past the entrance porch, you will see on your left statues of demons that we personally always find surprising and funny. Then on your right stands the modern Wihaan and in front of it the remains of the Khmer temple. If many interesting objects, statues and lintels were found here, they are all gone to museums. To the right of Khmer ruins, there is a platform with the imposing statue of a monk in mediation.

How to get to Prasat Sa Kamphaeng Yai ?

To get there from Si Saket, the simplest and cheapest way, if you do not have a car, is to take the train (5 baht in 3rd class in normal train for a journey of 20-30 minutes). Once in Uthomphon Phisai, it is easy. You go outisde the station and you follow the rail track on left for a little less than 2 km or you can hire the services of a motorcycle taxi or a samlaw that will take you to the temple, wait for you the time you visit it and take you back to the train station for 40 bahts. Otherwise, bus 4186 makes the trip Si Saket - Uthumphon Phisai for 25 baht. It leaves every 40 minutes until 4 p.m.
