8 km from the majestic Phanom Rung, Muang Tam is also a Khmer temple dedicated to Shiva. It was built in the late 10th early 11th centuries and was restored and open to the public in the late 90s. With its four large pools surrounded by Naga, it is one the most complete temples of this kind. Only the five central towers have not been rebuilt.
Often drivers you will hire will offer to add Muang Tam to the Phanom Rung visit. Our advice: accept!
