Visit Kantang Railway Station (Trang)

Kantang Train Station is located 25 kilometers south of Trang city. Opened in 1913 as Trang station, it was placed there for its proximity to the port, making it an important freight station for goods from Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. At the time the line ended 500 meters further for the loading of goods at the port, but since 1960, this part was dismantled and Kantang became the terminus of the line. The yellow and brown wooden station building has been listed as a historic building by the Fine Arts Department of Thailand.

The building has never been destroyed or renovated, just maintained, all the wooden structures and architecture are original. Its facades and elements painted in mustard yellow bordered with dark brown make it an even more unique train station in Thailand. The yellow-red combination is more commonly found in the country's wooden train stations such as Hua Hin historical station. Kantang Railway station is always in service. Among the passengers who disembark from the train there every day, there is always a part that only comes to see the historic station. It is one of the oldest train stations in Thailand and certainly the most beautiful!
