Visit Din Daeng Doi Viewpoint (Krabi)

Din Daeng Doi is a small mountain located about 20 minutes drive from Ao Nang and 30 minutes from Krabi town. Its summit offers a more than 180° view of the surroundings with the sea on one side and the karst peaks facing the countryside on the other. It's a great place to come and have breakfast facing the sunrise in an incredible panorama! There is a coffee shop upstairs. The 500 meter ascent between the car park and the summit is not that difficult. If you are fit, going up takes about fifteen minutes (with my 4 and a half year old daughter, it took us around 20 minutes).

To watch the sunrise at the top of Din Daeng Doi Viewpoint in Krabi, you have to arrive at around 6 a.m. at the parking lot to be at the top at around 6:30 a.m. Having some trouble to make my wife and daughter wake up so early, I was there only around 7:30 am. It was still an incredible setting for having breakfast but the sun was already up. Sometimes the surrounding landscape is covered in a sea of mist.

The breakfast menu doesn't offer a huge selection but there are several breakfast plates and rotis (crispy pancakes) and several choices of blended juices and coffees. The prices are very reasonable (35 THB for a roti and 50 THB for a breakfast plate with toast, fried egg, salad and sausage). The most beautiful view is on the sunrise side but you can also see the sunset from up there.
