This large tea plantation about 40 kilometers from Chiang Rai city is one of the best known and the largest in the province. In fact the brand has 3 plantations in the sector but this one is the one that people usually visit (see map). At the top of the hill , there is a square building on the roof of which you have a nice view over the tea fields and inside there is a shop where you can buy Choui Fong tea of course and other products or you sit at a table and enjoy a hot or cold tea drink.
If you come early in the morning, you may have the chance to see the pickers working in the plantation and obviously there will be fewer visitors. Choui Fong attracts a lot of people who come for some pictures and selfies. As for me, coming from Chiang Rai especially for the plantation does not necessarily worth it ( Singha Park is much closer to the city and also has a nice tea plantation) but adding Choui Fong as a stopover on the road to Doi Tung or Mae Sai can be a good idea.
Guide to visit Choui Fong Tea Plantation
The Choui Fong tea plantation is open to the public from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm (no admission fee)
There is, to my knowledge, no public transportation to get you from Chiang Rai to Choui Fong Maechan.
