Chae Son National Park is located 75 km from Lampang City in Mueang Pan and Chae Hom districts in a lush, forested, mountainous area. It is especially interesting for its natural hot springs and its waterfall. Its visit can be a good complement to that of the perched temple Wat Chalerm Prakiat which is a little over 10 kilometers away. I recommend a whole day excursion from Lampang that I detailed in this article . The park area is 592 square kilometers. The mountains of the park are part of the Khun Tan Range and provide an important source of water for the surrounding area. In places, the park reaches altitudes of more than 2,000 meters. There are waterfalls and caves and treks (a guide is more than recommended).
The morning views of the hot springs (82 ° C) with the mist are quite famous. There are bathing facilities for visitors including small private bungalows with mineral bath (50 THB). One of the fun things to do here as in many hot springs in Thailand is to cook an egg in the spring water. Eggs in bamboo baskets are on sale. It takes 17 minutes for a hard egg, the water is only 82 ° C. Just one kilometer away is Chae Son Waterfall, a 6-level waterfall that can be followed by a steep path and stairs. You can dip at level zero but more after.
