Information about Sakhon Nakhon Wax Castle Festival
Wax Castle Festival is held annually at the end of the Buddhist Lent. The event are objective to pay homage to Phra That Choeng Chum and to wish for living in the happy home as a castle and being wealthy if they reborn to be human. Using beeswax, the local people create molded Buddhist temples, shrines, and other wonderful wax castles. The most artistic talents from around the province bring their wax castles to be shown off in a procession for all to see. In addition to the procession, there are boat races and other cultural performances that showcase rural cultural and the spirit of the local inhabitants.
