Climbing the Doi Chiang Dao Personally, I did not do it when I came here due to lack of time but apparently the Doi Luang Chiang Dao offers many trail routes very popular with hiking enthusiasts and the view to its summit is superb. Authorities advise people to go up with a local guide. Anyway a tourist who wants to visit the Doi Chiang Dao must obtain a letter of approval from the director of the Wildlife Conservation Office at least 2 weeks in advance The visit (Tel: 089 955 1417 (mobile)) or you can go through a local guide or agency that will manage this for you. Generally the ascent is done over 2 days because climbing to the summit, enjoying the view and going down takes around 8 hours.
Go at Tuesday Market , every Tuesday morning from 6 am to noon, there is a local market on the main road. It is interesting because many sellers come from the hill tribes to sell the production of their villages. A good opportunity to meet these minorities and buy them something.
