My opinion:

The temple itself is not very interesting. It is its herbal sauna at about hundred meters on the other side of the road that made its reputation. Two small very basic rooms, one for girls and one for boys (go in the right one), showers and benches outside, a changing area with toilets and lockers, the place is not a luxurious spa. Here no effort was made for decorationor the comfort of visitors but it is normal it is managed by a temple. And the price is unbeatable ! The Wat Pho herbal sauna is certainly THE curiosity and best deal of Koh Phangan island.
You can also go to pray in the temple after the sauna to be thankful for this moment of relaxation and intense sweating of course...

Practical information about Wat Pho

Entrance fee to the sauna for the duration and the number of times you like: 100 THB (price includes a sarong and padlock for your locker). Bring a towel.
Opening hours : 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM

How to get to Wat Pho ?

As it is a little outside the main road on which passes the songtheaws (collective taxis) which regularly roamKoh Phangan island, to get to Wat Pho you can use them to drop you off at the closest intersection and walk the last 700 meters to the harbal steam sauna. Otherwise, you will have to come by rental bicycle or scooter or privatize a songthaew.

Rules to respect when visiting a temple

Wat Pho is a temple and when you visit a temple in Thailand there are some rules to know and follow :

Dress properly (knees and shoulders should be covered)
Take off your shoes when entering the buildings
Be quiet
Don't hug or kiss
Don't point your feet to Buddha's image
Don't smoke
