Lopburi's Wat Phanit Thammikaram is about twenty kilometers from Wat Huai Kaew. Small temple, it is distinguished by its particularity: its concert ordination of architecture fairly classic for a Buddhist temple in Thailand is built on a giant turtle -shaped base. The turtle is a sacred animal in the Buddhist universe. I am not sure that it is linked but the Wat Phanit Tammikaram is located in the district of Nong Tao, Tao meaning Thai turtle. We will also note a large golden Buddha in this temple.
