Your Travel Guide to Thailand
All information & tips to prepare your trip in Thailand
Wat Pak Nam Khaem Nu is a beautiful Buddhist temple nicknamed the Blue Temple due to its decoration, which is entirely in shades of blue and white. It has become a must-see attraction for visitors to Chanthaburi province. Built in 1946, Wat Pak Nam Khaem Nu was only recently decorated with these iconic blue and white motifs.
The exterior facade, statues, roofs, and even the stairs are decorated with blue porcelain, giving it an almost surreal atmosphere, especially on a clear day, when the blue of the temple blends with the sky. It's a unique design in Thailand (but one that will surely be copied).
Visit the temple in the morning or late afternoon to take advantage of beautiful light for your photos. Combine your visit with the nearby beach or a detour to Laem Sing for a relaxing day in the area.
The temple is open daily from 6am to 6pm
The temple is located in the Na Yai Am district, about 20km south of the city of Chanthaburi, near the coast. It is also very close to Laem Sing beach. There is no public transportation to get there.
