Wat Lok Molee (or Moli) is notable for its large brick chedi built in 1527 by King Chettharat. In front of the chedi there is a beautifully decorated wooden viharn built in 1545. The ashes of several members of the Meng Rai Dynasty, the founder of Chiang Mai, were placed in this temple. Wat Lok Molee is aligned along a north-south axis when Buddhist temples are generally oriented more towards the East.
