reviews My opinion:
starstarstar
Tung Yee Peng Village is a small village on the East coast of Koh Lanta. At the edge of the water, a bridge welcomes you and on the other side there is a cement path going ythrough the mangroves. But you can also go through the small canals sneaking into the mangrove on a longtail with a local guide and go up to nearby islands Koh Aung, Koh Talabeng and its caves and Koh Bu Bu. It is also possible to rent kayaks directly from the ticket office.
Mangrove roots create a quiet and protected area for fishes, crabs, oysters, lobsters and shrimps. The forest is also a guard zone for reptiles, mammals and birds and protects the coast from erosion. If you like ecotourism activities, interesting activities are offered to visitors (not in low season), such as the construction of houses for fish and the planting of sea grasses.
Inside the mangroves there is a restaurant on stilts very appreciable for its setting and its cuisine (seafood in particular)
