The exhibition of Surin National Museum can be divided in 5 topics: Natural Sciences, History-Archaeology, Local History, Ethnology, Local heritage (not finished).
The Museum was first established in 1974 by the idea of the former Surin' s governor in order to keep and exhibited art objects and ancient objects of Surin Province. These objects were first exhibited at Surin city hall and moved to Surin Educational Office after that. In 1992, The Fine Arts Department has prepared the plan to develop and overhaul this museum, then the supporting budget was allocated to construct the new building. The construction of Surin National Museum building was started since 1995.
