Installed from June 2018 near the Huay Thung Tao Lake by the Huay Tung Tao Reservoir tourism promotion office these giant King Kong statues of wood and rice straw quickly attracted many tourists.
First there was one king Kong and then a second and now , it is a little family, there are 3 King Kongs and some other animals. Visitors can climb on the largest King Kong and sit on his hand. It is really a curiosity you should go to see after relaxing around the lake installed in a bamboo hut enjoying a good meal.

How to get to Straw King Kong statues ?
I don't think, there are public transport to come to Huay Thung Tao Reservoir from Chiang Mai, so you will have to be transported or hire a songthaew (red car). Whatever the number of passengers, it should cost you around 600-700 THB to get you there, have the driver wait for you several hours and bring you back to the city.
