Pepople mainly come to Sukhothai to visit the temples in the historical park but less than ten minutes by bicycle from the main entrance of the central part, there is a making Buddha amulets workshop which has been working on this handicraft for 6 generations and offers to tourists to make their own amulets. Kob and his wife welcome you, explain the techniques and show you the process. They will also offer you a snack with a Thai dessert, before the demonstration of ancient techniques for lighting a fire and... archery activity. Kob speaks English so no problem for you to participate. You must just call at least the day before to book (see telephone number below). Plan to stay at least 1 hour for this workshop but you can stay as long as you want.
