Presentation
The Elephant Poopoopaper Park as its name suggests is a place that makes paper from elephant poo, a raw material quite easy to find in Chiang Mai which is the province in Thailand with the most elephants camps and sanctuaries. They actually have this park to welcome visitors and show them the different stages of the process from collecting elephant droppings to assembly of the final product and a more mechanized production unit which is closed to the public.
Visitors are encouraged to get their hands dirty and make their own sheet of paper. There are also small workshops to manufacture products ranging from fans to larger pieces including paintings. Count 45 to 60 minutes for the visit or a little more depending on the complexity of the workshop you want to do. It's really cool and fun, especially with kids and the staff have a lot of humor. It's also a green project that needs to be supported.
