Visit Coconut Shell Handicraft Center (Phatthalung)

Located in Ban Khok Wua 6 km from Phatthalung city, this center known for making objects from coconut shells is located in a village dedicated to this craft. Spoons, cups, lamps, lampshades... they have many products. Unfortunately if there are still workstations in the center, they are not used since recently so the place is now mostly a shop to buy original souvenirs but visitors can not watch people working any more. They can explain to you the process with phictures but it is not the same as seeing the craftsmen at work. I asked if I could go to another place in the village where people actually work on coconut shell but with no success...to bad, it would have been interesting. So, ythis visit is more about shopping that discovering a local handicraft work.
