Visit Chao Phrom Market (Ayutthaya)

Chao Phrom market is busy all day but especially busy and active in the morning. At dawn, there are already many customers. It is the largest fresh market in Ayutthaya. It offers food, meats, fruits and vegetables, clothes, amulets... If you have never seen a local market in Thailand, it is really worth going there and stroll in the market's alleys. And why not buy some snacks or fruit.

The name of the market comes from Phra Phrom (Lord Brahma) Idol House, located along Naresuan Road. Note that the market is a 2-minute walk away from the Chao Phrom Market Pier and its boat service to cross the arm of the river and reach Ayutthaya train station by walking. On the other side of the market, on the city side, there is local minivan and bus station which mainly serve the Bangkok and Suphanburi.

Chao Phrom Market is above all a morning market, interesting to browse in the early hours of the day. As the day progresses, there are fewer stalls, but some stands are only set up at a specific time and some shops are open all day. There is therefore no real opening or closing time, but after 8 p.m., almost all the sltalls ans shops are closed. And again, mornong hours are the best to visit it.
