This is not a must-visit place in Bangkok. Not even really a tourist attraction either to be clear. But it’s a curiosity that says a lot about Bangkok life and the resourceful spirit in Thailand! Located in the Bang Kapli district at the east of central Bangkok, this small floating footbridge that exists for decades is worth a look. It would also be an opportunity to take the Khlong Saen Saep shuttle boats, a not the known by foreigner tourists public transport in Bangkok which allows you to see the city in a different way.

Used to cross the canal to get to the Ridwanun Islam mosque from the other bank, this floating footbridge which slides on the water by a system of pulleys operated by a pedal board. It is fun to take it or just to watch it work. It can sometimes rock a lot, especially when boats pass by.

There are in fact 3 flaoting footbridges over a few dozen meters but one in particular is active all day long.

To get to the floating footbridge to Ridwanun Islam Mosque, the most practical and fun way is to take the Khlong Sane Saep canal shuttle boats and get off at the Wat Klang Pier stop. It is then a 2 minute walk to get there. There are also several bus lines that pass on the main street not far away but frankly, it's a river experience so you have to come by boat!
