Your Travel Guide to Thailand
All information & tips to prepare your trip in Thailand
Phetchabun province is located in the north of Thailand. Some relate it to the North, others to Isan, officially, it is a northern province. It is a popular destination for its spectacular mountain landscapes. Its most famous corner, very popular with Thai tourists in winter, is Khao Kho. Personally, I also really liked the Phu Ta Boek. The other great attraction of the Phetchabun province is the very unique Wat Phra Sorn Kaew temple and its 5 white Buddha statues, seated in single file from the smallest to the largest, a bit like the Daltons ;). Although this temple attracts a few foreign tourists, Phetchabun remains a province rarely visited by foreigners.
The most important festival in the province takes place in town in Phetchabun, the Um Phra Dam Nam Festival, the key moment of which is when the governor immerses himself in the river with the Buddha statue from the most important temple. revered in the city. There are also dances and a parade as well as boat races on the last day. One of the most beautiful festivals in Thailand.
