Information about Tak Bat Phra Roi Tradition
As its name suggests, Tak Bat Phra King is an offering ceremony to 100 monks Thailand which usually takes place around October, the first Sunday after the end of Buddhist Lent at the full moon of the 11th lunar month.
In Lat Krabang, a suburb of Bangkok, the monks transported on boats stop at various places along the Lam Pla Thew Canal to receive offerings. At dawn, the faithful offer flowers, incense, food and drink.
Then there are traditional boat races on the same canal. The ceremony is organized by the Wat Sutthapoth temple in the Lat Krabang district of Bangkok.
