Information about Chiang Mai City Pillar Shrine Festival
This week-long event called ''Inthakin Festival'' takes place around Chiang Mai's city pillar shrine and is held annually at Wat Chedi Luang over a week. You will see the inhabitants coming to pay tribute, decorate flowers and pray. Be aware however that an old lanna belief forbids women to enter the hall housing the pillar.
